My Story

My name is Laurie Jean and I happen to be a second-hand and garage sale fanatic.  I developed an appreciation of old things from my Dad.  When I was a child we watched a show which featured vintage porcelain and ceramics and described their history.  I was hooked!  I began to ask my parents a lot of questions about the items we had in our house which had been handed down from grandparents. There is a particular fascination about holding a vintage piece in your hands and wondering about the many hands that have touched it before.  I especially enjoy the regular everyday items that made our ancestors' lives more beautiful.  Don't you find that today's society is so rushed we don't seem to have time for beauty anymore?  My ancestors were hard-working farmers and yet the matriarch of the family would always ensure her table was set with care.   Have fun exploring - I'm always finding and adding new items.  And maybe you too can "Hold a Piece of the Past in Your Hands."     P.S.  I love cats too!
