In 1953 Juan, Jose, and Vincente Lladro founded the Lladro company in Almassera, Spain.  It was their mother, who had a passion for porcelain, who enrolled them at the Valencia School of Arts, as young boys.  In the beginning, they sold their wares at local markets.  However, the pieces attracted attention due to their precision and detail.

This is one of their historical pieces, produced in the 1970's.  It is in pristine condition and measures 11" high by approx. 6" wide.
